Lutein is the dominant component of the peripheral retina and is present in high concentrations in the lens and macula of the human eye. Lutein’s main function is to support ocular health by promoting the absorption of blue light and ultraviolet rays.

Lutein is a natural plant pigment and potent antioxidant naturally found with zeaxanthin in many vegetables and plants, especially dark leafy greens. Once consumed, lutein and zeaxanthin accumulate in the eye.

Since lutein is a fat-soluble nutrient, it requires fat for proper absorption. Our Vsoftgel technology delivers lutein to the body in an oil-based soft-gel for enhanced bioavailability.
